    Question What is it?

Hi All, I am a new member, I have joined so I can use the expertise of members with collectible items I find now and again. Cheers thecollector007.
I would like to find out some information on the pictured item. It appears to be an antique firearm combination tool, can anyone shed light on Model or which weapon??? Thank you

It's a loading lever for a model 1836 Colt Paterson revolver.

I'm thinking it looks larger than it is . I'm guessing the spike is for clearing the nipples and the " crown" is the wrench for removing them. How do you use it to get the leverage you need to seat the balls ? Only way I can figure is if the spear point end fits in the bbl wedge slot ? Just a WAG. Or is there another part to this ?

Yes it goes in the barrel wedge slot. Because it's sort of spoon shaped it can be moved in the slot. I don't remember if it's a combo tool or not.
