    1918a2 bar

Hi I own a 1918A2 Original BAR that I am looking to sell. Well I tried to do the same a few years ago but gave up. There are a couple of logistical and regulatory obstacles I guess.
    So here is the story
The rifle I am looking to sell is in a very good condition.
The rifle is located in South Africa, and is licensed there in my name, I live in the UKicon now, and have been for the last 17years.
The rifle has been modified to shoot Semi-Auto (but can be changed back to selective fire by a good gunsmith or replacement retainer), to be licensed, Full Auto guns are not allowed in SA.

What would be required to sell and ship this rifle to the US, for a start I need to get a Firearm export permit from the South African Police, but then I imagine a lot more is required on the US side.

Please let me know if you can guide me through the process

You can't sell it in the US as once a full auto, always a full auto. They won't allow it in as a FA or Dewat...nor will Canadaicon...you might be able to sell the parts only on Ebay. The receiver will probably have to be scrapped.
    Regards, Jim
