    Long Lee Enfield Clearing Rod

A long lee Enfield just looks funny without a cleaning rod in that slot. I understand that the rods are more rare than the already rare rifle. Is there anyone around still making reproduction rods shipping to the US?
I am also considering modifying a more common rod, but I'm not finding what the 3/16 whitworth thread tpi should be. Has anyone tried this and where did you find the die?

    3/16" Whitworth is 32 Tpi
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

    I should add...
The rifle is dated 1896 and needs the shorter 17.5" rod.
Other posts on the forum mention 3/16 26 W is the correct thread.

Apologies I had picked up the info on the BSF table rather than the BSW table - correct 26 tpi

A genuine rifle that had its clearing rod withdrawn from service by the Britishicon Military and you want to put a repro in its place. The rifle is correct without a clearing rod unless there are stamps showing non British ownership and that country did not issue LoC to with draw the rods

An excellent justification for not having a clearing rod, but does that rule out an "As Issued" preference?

In the case of a clearing rod, I'm not concerned with "correct" because if it's wrong it can just be pulled out of the existing slot. I also have the 1896 date bayonet that was designed to fit over the rod.
I found a guy in NZicon that makes them and ships to the US, I'll see what I end up with when I get them.
