    M1 Garand premature ejection

My M1icon started to eject partially loaded clips when I was at the range. It eject thecip when it is down to the last three rounds. I have read online that it could be the clip latch or the clip latch spring. I have examined both but I do not know what either one of them would look like when they are worn out. They look ok to me, could it be another problem that is happening?

It could be the clips themselves. Are you using military or commercial clips?

I bought the rifle a few years ago, I think they are surplus, but how would I tell? They haven't failed me yet but they are awfully hard to load I almost have to force them in. Not as easy as I see other people load their M1s. But up until now I have never had a problem.

According to the other threads I am thinking on replacing my spring or clip latch. I am just curious as to why these clips are always hard to put in?

Possibly the outside finish on them? If not then try setting the ammo in the clips by setting the points against a 4X4 or other piece of wood material. The book wanted you to set the points against the stock...

Make sure the ammo is properly staggered in the clips. Change your clip latch spring. Leave the latch alone.
    Regards, Jim
