    Glad to hear ...

We require two weeks notice in case of injury and four weeks in case of death ...

    Regards,

I'll keep that in mind the next time I try to catch knife edged parts that don't need catching anyway! Pure stupid relex acted when it jumped off the fixture onto the restraining pins...

The 'reflex action' is the problem! I hate to even admit it, but if it makes you feel any better jmoore.....

I did the same thing with a small soldering iron recently when I stepped on the cord and pulled it out of my right hand when I was carefully trying to solder a teeny wire onto a circuit board.
(Left thumb and index finger asked me to make a note to myself to let it hit the carpet next time!)

A couple years ago I was welding some cast iron parts with stainless stick rods, I had just lifted my hood when a piece of slag about a half inch square popped off and came right for my face, I instinctively closed my eyes just as it fused it's self to my right eye lids effectively ''welding'' them shut. There was no damage to my eyeball but the lids had 2nd degree burns and took a while to heal. Sometimes ''reflex action'' is a good thing.

    I was!

Reflexes ARE useful for protecting one's own "parts", but no so much for "saving" sharp edged metal thingies!
