    Barrel marking question

Newbie here with a question on markings. I have a Remington 1917 (#349834). My question is about the barrel markings. It's dated 8-18 with flaming bomb, above that is the letter "E". Does this mean the barrel was made by Eddystone? Thanks for any help.

After WWI the Army had a huge M1917 rebuild program. Your rifle likely was re-barreled at this time. Around 1920-21.

Thanks for the info, I was pretty sure the barrel marking was for Eddystone. Just wasn't sure of the vintage.
