    Question Belgian police hi power

Recently acquired a Belgian police issue High Power (P35) with alloy frame. I was wondering if this was the only issue or sales for this model? Time frame is seventies..

I remember a fellow telling me that the Canadianicon army used alloy frame HIGH POWER pistols, but they were withdrawn because of the frames cracking. Can anyone confirm this? This would have been in the seventies, too.

The Inglis alloy framed guns were only experimental, a few being made for trials only. Some versions were OK, but it was deemed not cost effective to convert the vast stocks of steel framed guns on hand.

My friend told me that these were Belgian made pistols, and they were only in service for a brief period. He said that the Canadianicon 9mm ammo was too powerful, and cracked the frames on the pistols. They were all recalled and destroyed. When were the INGLIS alloy framed pistols built? Could my friend be wrong? He was in the RCAF for 30 years.

Being in the RCAF doesn't make someone right. The aluminum framed guns were not destroyed. Most still exist in private and public collections. SOME variants were hammered to pieces, others did well.
