Good day,
Picked up my No4mkT a couple of weeks ago really did not have time to look or fiddle with it other than taking the scope off and shipping it to BDL. She really is not as good as described so a little work is in order first off the wood. Got a good crack in the buttstock its coming off and going into a special box as it is well cartouched bottom of buttstock symbol of a star, a large V SL N 74 this all being in a verticle line. I have new wood and a cheek piece coming from Numrich. the base of the rifle say M47 C,, 1944,, 38***,, TR also in verticle order. The side of the action says No4MkI T Good old ENGLAND on the top of the receiver. So who made this girl really am computer illiterate I have some books coming but am in the dark. Also the top of the forestock rattles normal? Does something need to be tightened and or shimmed none the less i have wood coming for it also.
Litterally the day after this rig showed up the scope went off to BDL, thanks Doug they are great folks to deal with. For those of you looking to buy a No4MkT if you go the quasi refurb way your going to pay and if you get a minty one your going to pay. Scope servicing can go from $400.00 US and I am sure skies the limit. so far all my scope requires is the rear glass needs to be re glued and the turrets need cleaning.
Really getting to the urge to hit some paper with this old cougar,Information
