Webbing items marked Rover 1945?

Hi all, I have come across some webbing including a sling I want to get for my No4 Mk2, marked as manufactured MW&S 1941 and then also marked ROVER 1945.

Can anyone tell me what the ROVER 1945 marking indicates? I have come across a few other webbing pieces marked like this but can't find an explanation of what it means (other than meaningful date obviously).

Grateful for any info!

My understanding is that it is the Rover Car company of Solihull.

Many car companies had their own "in house" upholstery departments before WW2 and Rover cars was a quality car maker.

Not long after WW2 Rover "stuck" a Rover car engine into a Willys Jeep chassis, creating the first Land Rover. Interestingly the light green paint that very early Land Rovers were painted was war surplus paint that had been used to paint the interiors of cockpits/aircraft of RAF aircraft during WW2.

I assume that it is 2 slings on the basis of it being 2 manufacturers. The vendor may have posted pics of more than one sling under one listing, hence some confusion.

I think you are right, pictures of different slings in one sales listing. I have messaged the seller.

Sound logical, although somewhat bizarre that a seller would do that, unless he was going to list both seperately and just got his photos mixed up when posting, but you'd think you'd spot that...

For your info, Rover Car Co. were a 37 Patt webbing contractor during the war, and the other one, MW&S is for Martin Wright & Sons Ltd.

MW&S I've seen on a whole raft of different things, Rover was a new one on me (although I am no expert I've done a sudden deep dive into Lee-Enfield things in the last week or so).

India, Canada and Australia had their own webbing manufacturerers' codes.
