The German helmet has holes in it...so no good for a bucket.

The liner is also a part of the helmet and is not removable. The reason the GI helmet could be used as it was was because the helmet and liner were two separate pieces. No other helmet ever produced was a two part design.Originally Posted by browningautorifle
