    Civi EAL Value

I noticed a civilian model EAL for sale on CGN recently, listed by a member who also belongs here. Asking price is $1150.

I've never had any interest in civi EAL's and only limited interest in the military versions so I don't know much about them. It would seem to be a $400-500 max. rifle, to me. Am I missing something?

I don't think so. What is special about an EAL made up for commercial sale? Its another sported No. 4. Is a sported rifle from EAL worth more than one from Globe Firearms of Ottawa?
The gov't. ones do have a bit of a niche, because they were issued to various users, so they are a legitimate Cdn. service rifle.
Anything is worth what someone will pay for it. If someone will pay $1150, $2750, whatever, that's their business. Hope that they are happy with their purchase.

Personally I have never paid more than $125 for an EAL civilian model, although I was buying sporters as far as the guy on the other side of the table knew. I agree that these days, tops on a civilian EAL should be in the $400-500 range. A military one shouldn't be far from there either.

Seems like some guys are taking Joe Salter's site as the guide for todays prices.
