There is no proof that the slides are Savage, but that is probably a best guess. The A.J. Savage company had a contract for 1911 pistols, along with several others, that was cancelled with the end of WWI. No pistols were delivered, but the U.S. Government settled with A. J. Savage for expenses incurred in trying to get into production. It is thought that the slides were already in production when the contract was cancelled, and were used for replacement slides during rebuild. Strange that a quantity of completed slides had been made, but no receivers.

Here is my Junker rebuilt POS worth about $45.00. Yea, I know it has been refinished you can tell by the brush marks under the grips.

Don't feel bad; everyone has their own POS.

Uncle Sam's way of saying "thank you" for a job well done. The slide has been through the de-mil process. On this one it was bent until it broke, and the barrel (a Flannery Bolt) is permanently attached to the slide.

Then it would just be a buffed and polished POS, I guess.
