A "T" on a rifle

Hello to everybody

I have problem with an rifle witch is T stamped. It´s an M 1917.
It seems that the T marking is not so normal on this rifle. So at time there is no one who can tell me more about the marking. And if it means " Telescope added" wich kind of scopemount was usual on this rifle?
If anybody has got more information than please be so kindly an post it.
