    Stock Stamp: "ENT 31"

I obtained a correct 1917 '03 that has ENT 31 stamped on the right side of the stock, just above the butt plate line. Letter size and style is similar to the "battleship" stampings (USWV, UTAH, etc.). Any idea what this was?
