Cool poster. Interesting note: it appears that the rifle is an M1903, but the grips on the bayonet appear consistant with the M1917 bayo. Thanks for sharing.
I expect that the artist had a 1903 and a 1917 bayonet (or maybe just pictures) to use as models and not knowing anything about either one, just put the bayonet on the rifle, at least on paper.
The picture was also based on a Frenchposter from WWI, which showed a (French) soldier in almost the same pose.
