    CMP scout mount, what scope?

    Guys,
Picked up a scout mount for the M1icon from North store. If anyone has tried one,
what scope works with these? Thanks

Leupold and Burris make Scout (IER) scopes. Some pistol (LER) scopes can also be used on scout scope mounts. I have used both on a lever action rifle with good results.

I have one on my 7.62 Match M-1. However, I am a notorious cheapskate on optics. Those Burris and Leupold scopes will cost over $400. I bought a Simmons 2-6 Pro Hunter pisol scope, matte, costs $149 from Midway. Negatives: Eye relief is fairly critical, poor low light gathering capability, asI found out when I tried to hunt the rifle in the evening. Positives, holds zero very well and is cheap. Half the time I think I should have bought the Burris....

    Chuck

I am using a Leupold 4X with Leupold rings. Works very good. I did try one of the relly cheap scopes, was not happy at all. Like they say you get what you pay for. Good luck.
