    WWII 1911A1's

    Hey, Duane, John, and Johnny................
Just returned from a small Browning Collectors Assoc. Meeting and show, in Ogden, UT, held at the Browning Museum at Union Station.
An older gentleman walked in with a box of about 6 pistols. 4 were of WWII vintage. A Colt (mismatched slide/frame, A US&S (looked ok to me) Whch later sold for $5000! and an Ithaca (looked a bit rough, but correct. And get this............ A SINGER! First thing I noticed was the very nice PARKED finish. Leaning towards a black color. The lettering, and numerals all looked sharp.
But....... I can say no more about it. Just wrong finish, and .......... it scared the doo right out of me.
Just thought this was some interesting news. The displayer bought them all for $6500.00 bucks.

    Kind Regards,

Ron, If the Singer was parked, who knows what else was Bogus about the pistol. If the owner got the whole works for $6500, he did just fine regardless of what he had their. The others would have been worth that by themselves. See you soon Ron
