Rare Prototype or display M1icon Garand Rifle. Made by Springfield Armory during WWII to evaluate a new prototype gas cylinder with no stacking swivel and a new method of bayonet attachment. Also equipped with experimental muzzle brake. Original experimental serial is 0000000. Barrel dated 8-43 (mid-WWII). Overall condition excellent showing about 98% original parkerizing. Muzzle brake in-the-white. never pakerized. Very interesting War-time Garand that deserves more research. Most prototypes were never released from Springfield. Unique!
