is it so difficult to get small rifle primers? I checked countless websites and local gunshops for them but all are OUT OF STOCK. I want to reload for my M1 carbine. I have bullets and cases but need powder and primers.

Any leads on how I can get small rifle primers? Would calling the manufacturer direct get my any results?

MANY small and large rifle primers on Commercial Row before Highpower started, including Federals (guess what I bought!) AND Winchester. Limits of 5000 seem to be the rule, prices $35-40/1000

I understand that pistol primers are softer then rifle primers and the two should not be subsituted for each other.

If Powdervalley.inc has 50 million primers on backorder, then I must assume that the other outlets have about the same backorders. Now, the reason in my opinion is the political climate which started a year before Obama was elected. There were warning upon warning of what was to come, so it should not be a surprise what so ever.

I tried large rifle primers in my .44 super blackhawk and I couldn't seat the primers deep enough on some cases and the cylinder wouldn't turn. Load book had a load using large rifle primers and Trail Boss powder.
