OT Holster Info Needed

I have seen these before but always with an eagle type closure snap and I think they are rare? However this one has a later regular US style snap closure(slightly different shape). Is it later commercial or something? It has the Mills stamp and brass bottom has Mills patent dates.

The Mills woven canvas revolver holsters had the eagle snap for either the USN or USMC, but I have always seen the holster shown with the snap as shown. I believe Mills catalog showed that holster with an eagle snap, but I have never seen that holster with anything but the plain snap.
