"...did he write puke?..." Yep. The punk did. snicker.
    It's not an M1icon Carbine. It's a Ruger Deerfield/Deerstalker Carbine. Discontinued in 1985.

    Sunray,
The video Goo included was the old Ruger, but the auction ad Goo first talked about was a Ruger 99/44 Deerfield that Ruger resurrected in about 2002.

I bought one for my son back then as his first deer rifle and sold it the next year.

The Ruger didn't do anything especially well and had a big ugly plastic hand guard with the Ruger logo molded into it.

It was such an ugly looking rifle it made you want to PUKE

    Carbine on steroids

Lets not forget the LeMag. .45 WinMag. All Carbine except the barrel. One hell of a toy. Use the same cartridge in the LeMag, Desert Eagle and the Rhineland/ Mauser WinMag conversion. Ammo is expensive but still fun to shoot.

Just going through old posts and saw this one (don't know how I missed it). I had the original Rugger 44 Mag carbine and used it to hunt Black Russianicon Boar outside of Salinas, Kalifornia in the early 70s. Sweet gun, but the tubular magazine was a pain. It was nice because I had (and still do have) a matching 10-22. Much better looking weapon than this ugly incarnation Ruger came out with recently.

Kinda an answer to a question that was never asked....or better yet the wrong answer to a legitimate idea.
