    K22

Just to prove I am not as old as Goo thinks I am.
Got my research letter from S&W on My .22 outdoorsman. Shipped in april 1936, so it's a little more than one year older tham i am.

I don't know who owned it before, but they took very good care of it. Almost looks new.98% of the blue remaining and a perfect bore.

Well John I thought you were allot younger then that! The times I met you, with Joe Van, I thought you were a "kid". I was born in 8-34.

These are some of my favorite pistols

Before the government screwed things up, we used to buy K22s at gun shows for $200 on average. Occasionally you would find a good 5 screw but most were just good pre Bangor Smiths. I have a M18 and it is a handy and very accurate piece. These older Smiths just yell quality, especially a really old example such as yours. I really think that people don't realize the value in these older pistols: they never wear out and even a well worn K22 will shoot perfectly for another lifetime. Congratulations on a good find.

With all the joking going on for the past decade or so I came to believe John was kindred to Methuselah! Neither of you are as old as my father though and he's still going strong....and still a stubborn old Kraut to boot. LOL

My S&W M18 isn't as old as the K22 but I still have the original Bangor-Punta box it came in.
