    Rock Island M1903

I accidentally bought a Rock Island M1903 serial #333380, yesterday! The barrel is dated 2-19, and has a bright bore with excellent lands and grooves. There is a small A stamped on the bottom of the front sight band and a larger P in the barrell about 3 inches from the muzzle, also on the underside. Moving to about 3 inches in front of the rear sight sleeve is a C 126 on top of the barrell and then underneath again, is an ordnance bomb just in front of the rear sight base. The trigger has an O Bomb 33 on the left side. The floor plate has an O Bomb 44 on the inside by the spring. The leaf spring of the rear sight has an O Bomb 39 on the lower end, and the moveable sight base has an O Bomb 49. Two dished knobs on rear sight, and there isa G and H on the inside of the sight ladder, one on each side. The receiver has no Hatcher Hole nor a punch mark on the swell below the serial #. All metal has a Black finish, Not the Geek return black, except fot the trigger guard and floor plate, which is grey parkerized. The stock has a redish tint, dark, has an RI on tip, an L on left by rear stock bolt, an N behind trigger and a 7/16s circled fancy P, an X and W under milled smooth butt plate. No other marks can I find. The oiler hole in the butt has an half round groove in the bottom of it and then a larger hole under that about 6 inches deep. The bolt has NS on the underside of the rear lug, straight handle with an O Bomb in the armpit. Overall appearance is quite nice, hope it is all correct. Also hope I did well for $750.

    Please advise!!!
    Thanks

We should all have such "accidents"!!

That is a great deal! Late RI barrel and RI parts. I'd say you got a great rifle for the money.
