Are the hat emblem's navy? I thought the Japanesemarine emblem look'ed like this pic. I may be wrong.
IIRC , the first major contact between US Marines and Imperial Marines was on Wake Island.
The survival rate of the Americans who surrended on Wake ( and Allied units in the Philppines ) was higher than prisoners taken by either side during the Hitler/Stalin mess , at least during the first years...
