K98 Cleaning Rod Measuring

As posted in Gunnutz, I am buying a K98 from P&S. As a russian capture, I need to measure for a cleaning rod. What do I use as point A and point B when measuring for the correct size? HOw far out is the cleaning rod supposed to extend.

It should look like this when screwed in ....

This happens to be a 10" version on a 1939 Code 42 Oberndorf K98k...

Measure from the cleaning rod nut (in the stock) to the approximate center of the front sight, and you will be in range.
