Finish on Long Branch

I need a bit of help. I'm looking at a 1941 Long Branch and the finish appears to be that old baked on black paint. Were the Long Branch rifles typically blued or did some have this finish? Could this finish have been applied during a FTR?

War time Long Branch finish is blued. Is the rifle marked with any post war FTR markings? How about an Ishy screw? A 1941 Long Branch is a great find in any shape.
