    W.r.a. 42

I found a cigar box of mixed ammo at a yard sale saturday, and there was 40 rounds of m2 in it. it was marked W.R.A. 42. My question is, did Winchester make ammo for the government long before ww2 or only during ww2 like their garand production? This is the earliest ww2 Winchester ammo I have seen. Also, did Winchester make enblocs? TIA

    Hi there
Not 100% sure about the ammo, but I think they did.
They definitely made enblocks, it was part of the contract.
On the earliest the notches where they latch went all the way through &
were unmarked. The others were made the same as everyone else & marked WRA
