I didnt see a specific forum spot for wood work.........so.......I have a pistol grip stock, typical M14style. I want to use it for a Garand for the wife who needs a short pull, this is 11 1/2 with no butt pad. It has been inletted for selector parts on one inside & hard to tell what for on the other inside. Comparing it to a Garand stock, I will need to fill in two areas, 1" x 4" and 1" x 2", about 1/4" thick. The stock also has splits through to the outside in both places. Planned on drilling a couple of 1/8 vertical holes & glue in pieces of dowel rod.
How practical would it be to just fill the inletted areas with target rifle bedding material (Accu-glass???) ???? Or will I have to put some shaped pieces of wood in with ??? glue??? PJHeck heckinohio@att.netInformation
