    M1A1 Buttplate

Hey guys, could these be pristine replacement buttplates...USGI or Basement Special? Looks fishy to me...

The finish is much better than the M1A1icon buttplates on a carbine parts website based on the far west coast. Check those out once.

It has a little different looking font then the ones I have.

And the placement of my markings start more to the left on the buttplates.

Number on the right side of the circle on both of mine is a 9.

While we are on this topic, here's a close-up of West Coast guy's M1A1icon buttplate..2 fishy details on the checkering that I won't mention (comparing it w/ mine) but what do you guys think of the numbers and asterisk? Unless my eyes are already failing me

I may be wrong, but I think that the West Coast Guy is none other than Riverbank Armory & I wouldn't bet a penney on anything he's selling. He ripped me off on a phoney barrel several years ago. Be warned.

Never under-estimate the tenacity of fake parts "humpers". Carbine folders have been faked for almost 60 years. You can buy a fairly close ord. stamp off flea-bay and pound away until your fingers bleed.

Its a safe bet to deal with someone who has been around awhile, and will offer an unconditional, money back guarentee. For each good deal you get on flea bay, you will get ten green taco's. If you know what I mean.

Its not him... This dealer is in Washington State. ordered one and it looks fine to me. Came in the wrap, paper wrap was then compared with other WW2 period items still in wrap and A-ok! People can fake the parts but Paper dont lie! Just my 2 cents... 442nd...
