    Question No.8Mk1 Butt Pad??

Anyone have a line on a replacement butt pad for a No8? This one happens to be a BSA New Zealandicon contract rifle but I would happily use a Faz. or even a repop for shooting.

I seem to recall that efd EFD Rifles, Kent, England "The Enfield Specialists" had some a couple of years ago which might have been originals.

The current supply to those units still using No8 rifles are the tough but pliable plastic BDLicon made butt plates

No need to call me Sir. In the words of a famous philosopher we all know and love, "I'm a mere Armorer". American spelling duly noted!

Hello everyone. I thought a bit of an update on my hunt for a replacement No.8 butt plate would be in order.
With many thanks to Peter for the recommendation I contacted Brian Dickicon and ordered one of his reproductions and it arrived in short order. The fit on my somewhat beat-up old No8 is very good and the quality and look are outstanding. I matches the original in every respect except the material being hard plastic instead of rubber. At the $15.00 price these are a wise investment for anyone wishing to actually use their rifle or replace the degraded original with one that looks the part. Even the CR# has been diligently reproduced. Brian’s exhalant packaging and quick shipping was much appreciated.

I do however have a word of warning. Because dealing with Brian is so smooth and easy I wouldn’t bother looking at the rest of his web sight. You invariably end up spending much more than you originally planed.

    1944 No2Mk3 binoculars W/P37 case and a copy of Peter’s No32 scope book.

Thanks for the great service Brian!

No comment about the little book but a great find for the Mk3 binos. They are EXACTLY those that form part of the CES for the sniper kit (the earlier Mk2's were issued as well...). They were issued together with the kit. The Binos and compass were 'V' class items. V5/- I think... whereas the rifle and CES was B1/- and B4/-. Supplementary to the rifle CES were extra face veils and camouflaged smocks but these were what we call 'expense account items'

If you don't have the binos and compass your No4T CES isn't complete. Anyone got a COMPASS, prismatic Mk3 to show us.

Peter your book is an absolute gem. It has added a new dimension to my understanding of my favorite rifle.
I’m quite happy with the binoculars. I picked them specifically to start rounding out my CES. I’m surprised at their clarity given their age. Do you by chance have any instructions on how to sue the grat. In them?
As a point of interest (and unintentional plug for Brian Dickicon) he has a second pair for sale at $259.99. Someone needs to buy them before I do for my second No4T.
