    Shooting at Bisley

Hi All, I'm in Australiaicon and am going to be in Englandicon in late June and then mid July 2010, and was hoping to have a shoot at Bisley while I'm there(with my .303). Is anyone a regular there, or know the story for a foreign visitor to get a run?
    Thanks

    Hi,

The National Rifle Association (of GB) holds its main annual competitions, the Imperial Meeting, every year in July. The programme includes a two-day meeting for Historic Arms. You can access the Entry Form for the meeting earlier this year by going to the calendar on NRA website: National Rifle Association of the UK | NRA | Events

then scroll down to: Sat 11 July to Sun 12 July: NRA Imperial Meeting - Historic Arms Events (National Shooting Centre (NSC), Bisley)

click on the link to download the Entry Form.

The programme tends to grow slightly each year with new Matches being added, but you'll get a pretty good idea of what will be on offer in 2010.

Next year is the 150th Anniversary of the founding of the NRA in 1860 and some additional events for historical rifles shooting may be organised.

If you're going to be at Bisley in early June 2010, the Historical Breechloading Smallarms Association will be holding its annual "1910" Short Range Open Championships on 6th June. The 2009 Entry Form can be found by clicking on the link at:
    http://www.hbsa-uk.isonlinehere.com/home.php?page_id=17

If you want to bring a rifle into the UK to take part in these competititions, you'll need a Vistor's Firerms Permit. The match organizer can arrange that with the local Police: it'll cost you about £12 and take up to about six weeks.

Hope you can shoot at Bisley in 2010.

    Mark.
