    nazo hi power help

I picked this high power up on a lark it came with a CLG 43 holster. the finish is a little nicer compared to other ones I have seen. no WaA mark but does have Wa marks. on some strange stamps on the butt. the serial is 26719a from the serial number is this a war time production? could anyone speculate why no WaA mark but plenty of Wa stamps?

I own one in the 62,000 a range. It was made about August 1943. The pistol has the following markings. On the right side the serial number appears on the barrel in the ejection port, underneath the ejection port on the slide, and on he frame directly under the serial number on the slide. All three serial numbers have the letter "a" after them.

There is a Nazi proof eagle over the serial number on the barrel.

There is a Waffenamt Waa 140 on the front of the slide, on the side of the slide, and on the frame just above the trigger. There is also a Nazi proof eagle (eagle holding a swastika, to the right of the Waa 140. The bottom of the frame behind the magazine well has some markings which look like letters and/or numbers and I assume are inspector's marks.

Your pistol is in the correct serial number range. I am not sure what markings you are seeing, but pictures would help.

Some NAZI marked Hi Powers were refinished after WW2 and sold to various police departments in Europe.
If yours was one of these some markings may have been lost in the refinishing.

I have a wartime production NAZI marked here, it belongs to a friend. The wartime finish is very rough.
