Big 5 Sporting Goods M1's for sale

I was in Az a few weeks ago, and bought a Sunday paper on the way out of town. When I got home(Ca.) i saw an ad for M1icon rifles(799.00) Are these the Korean rifles? I thought they are still in Korea at the moment

They were imported from Guatemala, Guatemala originally got them from Taiwan and some from Isreal.

Generally they are in very poor condition but there are some Gems mixed in. For the most part 99.9 % of them aren't worth $799.

A coworker had served on an aircraft carrier that was called on to show the flag and protect US citizens during a revolution in a central American country, I think he said Gautemala, but not sure.
Anyway when they got just off shore they saw what appeared to be a raft of dozens of dead US Marines. The crew went balistic and were ready to bomb the country back to the Jurassic.
It turned out the uniforms were surplus given to that country's police years before, the dead were all police executed and thrown in the river to wash out to sea.

All of the ones I have examined in the last thirty days (San Francisco area and San Diego area) have Century Import stamps.

And no, not a single one was worth $800.00

Especially the one near Livermore,CA that had a cracked heel...

Brought in 2-3 years ago. Quite the storm in Central America. The money for the deal was not given to the country but instead some General grabbed it. The Americans are stilled wanted for questioning. Of course, the Americans had nothing to do with grabbing any money, but no one wants to question any local Generals. The perils of doing business overseas.

I saw a 6 mil receiver on one. Still did not think it worth $800. The receiver was pitted and rusty and the bore a sewer pipe.

Everyone should check out the Garands that Dupage is selling. A much better deal than the junk being sold at the Big 5. No import markings and all have replacement stocks.
