    People look very happy indeed. The Germans had so many troops in Norwayicon that the ate all of the food the country could produce. The locals were quite hungry when the war ended.

    Dang, those paratroopers look kinda loaded down! They jumping into battle, or going camping?

    I suspect that is because they are not paras but rather Air Landing (glider borne) soldiers. As are the lot in the second photo.

    So Stirling bombers became troop transports? Too bad they were designed to fit in existing hangars, could have been a much better package.

    I see in the first photo that one of the soldiers has the lower end of his cling attached via a Clip off a Bren Sling.

    In the second photo, if only that chap knew just how valuable that No5 bayonet was going to become ....

    yeah because it is a Bren, One of those lesser known para models!, shortened barrel.

    being an ex para i find it amusing that they are still trying to come up with different weapons in that the weight and length are lighter and shorter than the standard issue stuff. My case in point is the folding butt stuff and para minimi.

    No chutes, main or reserve.
    You don't know if they emplaneing or deplaneing?
    Patrol order plus big ? packs. reckon its just an admin move somewhere, definately not jumping.
