    Item no. 2105 - LEE-METFORD MK 2 CALIBER.303 RIFLE - SPARBROOK 1894

    Offered here is a scarcely encountered un-altered Lee-Metford rifle model of Mark 2 manufactured by the Royal Small Arms Factory at Sparbrook UK dated 1894. Features include caliber .303 Britishicon with Metford patent segmental rifling, 30 inch ( 767 mm ) barrel,10 round detachable magazine, magazine cut-off, full military configuration with bayonet lug, matching numbers on the bolt and receiver. Condition rates NRA Antique Excellent, with a clean bore showing sharp rifling. Light handling marks on the wood, void of cracks or weak spots. These rifles were produced for a short time from 1893 to 1895. Non-restricted class firearm.

    He really should point out that it appears to be an old target rifle.
    The BSA barrel suggests it is a replacement, so "unaltered" is a bit of a stretch. I really wonder if it is a 7 groove Metford barrel. Segmental? In many ways it seems to be a nice old rifle.
