fairly early Q.H.M.C.

got this one a few weeks back found it on a table at a gunshow. it is a mix of early and late parts type 2 dogleg hammer, late recoil plate, it has a Rock-ola barrel as best as i can tell its as manufactured. some of the pics aren't the best but it is what it is.

Stu, I was trying to make out the 1st part of the serial.... 16???? just wondering how close it is to mine (my 1619XXX went thru all the rebuilds). Guess yours is what mine is suppose to have looked like.

thanks guys, it set me back $600. TR, 162 yours would have looked like mine and mostly likely would have had the big 1" cross cannons stamp mine missed have it by about a thousand units +/- but am happy to have it otherwise, have had late correct examples in the 4.6/4.7 range, first early one for me.

Stu you old fox you have done it again. That is a nice Q.H. from about August 1943 when they received about 21,000+ barrels from Rock-Ola. A real nice catch for sure.

Stu, thats really cool and an EXTREMELY great price. Mine has an Inland highwood stock with the AAS Augusta rebuild stamp on it. Yours looks great especially if it is as-built. Not complaining, but can you take another try at some more pics? I'm really enjoying seeing the orginality of your QHMC.

Its just too bad that we can not track down the history of these carbines individually. I would settle for finding out if mine were used in Europe or Pacific and Army, Marine or other services.
