    If it is like in the description, i think the price is a bit to high over here you can get one for $ 380 - $500. The rear sights has an like new look??

    Number on barrel ring does not match number on backsight.

    Backsight and barrel rings have a completely different finish to the main action. Maybe sandblasting with a very fine material?

    The stock wood looks gorgeous. But the handguard wood again looks different.

    IMHO: Not 100% correct for a collector item, and, like Gunner says, about twice the going rate as a shooter (IF it is a good shooter).

    1992 I got a Gewehr 98 complete in fair but working condition for 50 bucks. I cleaned it up and sold it for 100 2 days later. Few years later I got one with battle damage, and needing a bolt thrown in a deal. Both were 1917 Suhl.
    Now in 2010 I v.rarely see GEWicon 98's at the shows any more.
    Perhaps above prices are about right.
