What kind of m1 carbine is this?

Hello from Houston, TX.

I have a nickel/chrome finish, first I've ever seen. Can anyone tell me more from the serial number/markings?

Is this factory gun or does it look like someone beadblasted and hard chromed parts of the rifle?

Parade rifle? Someones custom? Serial # means it is an early Inland, looks like a mixmaster rebuild. Also looks like some rust that needs to be taken care of. Only looks like some of the parts are chromed. How about some more pictures of the stock? Are there any import markings on the barrel?.....Frank

Did some further inspection and found a few markings on the rifle.

The barrel is marked:
Inland Mnfg Div.
General Motors
4-45

From the top, it looks like a Winchester Type II trigger housing with no groove in the rear face of the magazine well

Looks like some VFM/American Legion drill rifles I have seen part blue, part chrome. I actually had an 1860 Spencer carbine (56-56 rim-fire) that was like that. Part blue and part chrome. I called it my Civil War pimp gun.

I would be afraid of the M1 stamp on top of receiver looks like a 7xxxxxx gun and with a 4-45 serial could be suspect 2 as it looks wide
