    My first M1917 - Winchester

    Hello all,
Been collecting M1icon Carbines - but ran across this Winchester & just really wanted it. Hope I did all-right. Still looking it over but some of the marks are - under barrel - (VP) ,triangle, upside down R, MNS / MNS also on receiver.Side of receiver has circled star & ordinance mark. All parts seem to be W except bolt and bolt release. They are marked E. Apparently a rebuild - About 95% park finish. Really nice stock with eagle head & 504 on bottom & a W on front ( hand guards Also marked W with number.)Came with 1907 sling with 1918 J.C.Y.visible. Also 1917 Winchester bayonet with scabbard. Now the fun begins.

Early Win M1917, bayonet, scabbard and sling.
    Nice collection there, jls77!

I've seen genuine 1917 Win bayonets with scabbard at gun shows going for as much as $300. Good find.

I'd love to take this old gal out & see what she can do but I haven't decided yet. There is almost no wear & muzzle gauged a 1. I'll keep my eye out for the bayonets. I saw one sell last month with scabbard for 175. It was in nice condition & a Winchester.

    Yes it's a M1907. In the right light - J.C.Y. 1918 can be seen. Here's a better pic.
