    Question M1866 .44 cal Winchester Rifle Valuation?

    Hello...

    Here are some pictures as well as local SA evaluation certificate of an item I'd like to obtain more information, specifically some ideas as to valuation.

    Please assist me in this matter as I'm not a collector of antique rifles and inherited the item from a family member.

    Thank you for any help ...

    Regards;
    Phillip

    If its a real, factory engraved Winchester, then a five figured price tag shouldn't be at all hard to realize. (I don't know where in the five figure range it would be, currently.) You don't specify where on the planet from which you post, but I'd surely spend some money to have it researched!

    Tk's for the reply (JMoore) Being on the other side of the planet, I have to decide...sell the item locally, for what I can get...or go the advanced way...export/post the item to where it belongs...country of origin (USAicon) auctioned by accredited company. Serial no. 36xxx...reply from Cody Arms...not listed. I therefore need to strip the rifle in order to get info regarding the engraver. If you can assist in any matter, please feel free to do so. Quote; five figured price tag...some evaluator mentioned a six figured price tag, if auctioned at the USA West Coast Auction Houses...the better option, but at a price of course!!! I don't want to flock out thousands to get it there, therefor any reasonable five figure price will do, as the buyer can save at least 10% + all other savings. Being offered/estimator 18,000USD>> 23,000USD if auctioned that side of the planet. Regards till next time. Phillip

    You might find a good market in Germanyicon as well. Of course, it might be best to wait a bit for the investors to get frisky again...
