Subject: Loss of Firearm
To: Chief of Ordnance, War Department, Washington, D.C.
(THRU the Commanding General, Seventh Corps Area, Omaha, Nebraska.)
1. Pursuant to par. 65, Ordnance Field Service Bulletin, No. 2-1, W.D., O.O., Wash., dated June 10, 1933, report is made that one (1) rifle, Cal. .30 - Model 1903, Serial # 739751, Springfield Arsenal, disappeared during drill February 20, 1935.
2. Careful search and investigation was made locally to see if the disappearance was due to the prank of some fraternity during "hell-week" or was an actual theft -- the latter appears the more probable. Hence the delay of this report.
