Checking Headspace with a Primed Cart Shell

If I remember right, did some one on the forum have a technique for checking headspace with a only primed cartridge shell? If the primer didn't go off when the bolt was closed, the headspace was right?

    Thanks,

    Curt

Don't eat that...you need a proper headspace gauge to do the job. Any thing else is just guess work.
