    Kreg M1900?

    Hi all,
I collect knives but I do not know much about military edges. I got this about a year ago and it has been sitting in my case. Now I am getting really curious if it is authentic. It has been cleaned to death (not by me) and I believe the handles are off a M1icon bayonet.
    Thanks for looking.

BAC- I've seen one actual Bowie Bayonet in my life. Someone ground down the blade. Looks real to me. But. I don't get why someone would replace the grips w/a plastic M1icon set.Unless they were flat out missing. What a shame. If it is a legit Bowie Bayonet, it might be worth the investment in a messed up Krag 1892 bayonet to get the grips. Krag grips had 2 rivets which held the handle on. Not sure how easy that would be either, most were ground flat. With the M1 grips, someone had to drill a third hole. There are some real experts out there, who could really help. SKIP

I have been off and on looking for a beat up 1892 for the handles, but I have not found one yet that I want to tear apart.

I took it to local gun/knife shop to see how it fits on a Karg. On the spot he offered me $200 for it. I just smiled and said it was not for sale. But it sure looked good on the Karg. I might need to buy the rifle so I can have a matched set.
