Arrow Schmidt-Rubin Model 1889 rifle (CGN Private Ad)

    Posted on CGN ....

You don't see many of these "all matched" and complete ...

Schmidt-Rubin Model 1889 rifle (click here)

If you can't view the advertisement, it's probably due to the fact that you have to subscribe to the EE (Equipment Exchange) forums on CGN in order to view them, or the ad has been deleted.

    Seller says:

Schmidt-Rubin Model 1889, 7.5MM Swissicon caliber, early gun, 30.5 inch barrel, all matching serial numbers, including magazine. Lever next to mag is the mag cut-off, bore is clean and sharp. This is the early action with the locking lugs at the back of the bolt, apparently it was considered rather weak by later model standards. As the gun developed the locking lugs were moved forward on the bolt and eventually the bolt became shorter. Do your research on this one you will find it is a very rare gun.

A nice example, but over-priced by $250-300 IMO.

Lots of demand for the K31 by shooters, but there doesn't seem to be very strong collector interest in the Swissicon stuff (Peabody's, Vetterlis and Schmidt-Rubins). I'm an exception - I love the Swiss stuff (even their bayonets are beauts).
