    Is '.H" Inspector Stamp

What is the meaning of a '.H' on the receiver and barrel? Is it just an inspector stamp?

The H in the shield means the sight was made by Hamphill Mfg. Co. and is most often found on late Winchester carbines. The H on the barrel is not a normal stamping. Could be from anywhere the barrel has been.

The H in the shield on the rear sight is the manufacturer stamp for the Hemphill Company...

I don't know about the barrel stamp, it looks like an inspector - GUESSING...

If you look at the far left to the rear of the receiver there is an 'H' there too (sorry pic is a bit blurry). Any ideas on that one?

Letters or numbers are fairly common inspection marks on the top of the barrel just in front of the receiver. Same thing on receivers, normally they are on the bottom or lower on the sides but have been observed where yours is as well.
