    Finding Type I Band Screw

After getting out a W code Underwood to help a fellow member yesterday, I can't get over the look and feel of the repro swivel screw I have on it.

Any leads to finding 1 real Type 1 band screw?

    TIA,
    Charlie-painter777

Painter, I hope you find one as those bands are scarcer than hensteeth.

Yesterday, while testing the copper plated bullets, I saw out the corner of my eye, two objects fly off. One was the empty case and the other the band screw. Seems the old Inland has such weak threads on the band and the screw it wouldn't stay in. Got out the bucket of bolts and found something that would hold temporarily. I have an extra type 3 band but the color is much darker than the rest of the gun. Haven't decided what to do yet. Sorry, this doesnt' help you in your hunt, but your quest reminded me of this. ha.

Charlie, not trying to be a smart a$$, but if its really worth that much to you, I have seen a few guys stripping some of the bavarians for parts. Maybe you are willing to pay the prices for the whole band on GB?? I hate to support the destruction of historic pieces, but at least you know you purchasing a stripped part would go to some good. Just a thought...
