There are many like it but this one is mine- Also wanted to see if I am able to post pics :|
Danish anchor on sight assembly.
The SN's mostly make sense. At least they kept it all Springfield, I'm happy about that. The only SN I can't figure out is the bolt. I find info on 28287-2SA but nothing on 12SA and no mention of the diamond either. Found this really good GarandID site though: http://battlerifle0.tripod.com/id3.html
When I first broke down the rifle I found a Danish (I assumed) armourers sticker. I would love to know what it says. I think it has something to do with sighting it in as there are distances, and the word "Klik" as in windage and elevation adjustments perhaps? I will dig it up and post it later.... here it is! Any info would be greatly appreciated!
I found out:
Kampviser likely means firing point, so in this case 300 metres?
Klik means click
Skytte: well I know Hjorring is a city in Denmarkso...
G m/50 was the danish designation for the garand.
I got this oldcrusty oil I should get off, any advice?
Anyone know where I could find the piece missing here? Or what it is called so i can search for it?
I have to improve my photography skills, I just can't seem to soften the flash
sometimes. And in general I find the photos don't do the rifle justice, it's almost as though the pictures bring out flaws I don't see with the naked eye!?Information
