I have no idea, but here's another case of the pics are so bad you can not tell...

the side shots have some much light reflection that you can not get a good look at the texture, color or markings.... If they don't want to sell it bad enough to take good pics, I would pass on it...

This seller has several flip sights for sale and I would question at least one of them. He also has a type 1 barrel band he thinks is real but I for one would not buy it. You just have to love it when they coat them with a pound of grease.

I don't like it. Looks too good. No wear or handling marks.

They are all mine and I guarantee you are passing on the real thing......but I would guess you prefer pictures taken from 15 feet away...

    Your loss......

And as always you can ask for more pictures....

If you are who I think you are, you have my apologies. Where have you been? Unfortunately your initial photos were not the best and nowdays with the current crop of repros, I always err on the side of caution.

Hired gun, this forum is for the passing on of information and there is a great deal of very knowledgeable folks here on this site. We have all looked a grip of sights and there are guys here that can look at one, from 15 feet, and tell its originality. If I had a dime for every person that claimed a site or barrel band they had for sale was the real deal that turned out not to be so, I'd be rich. I for one felt your site was real, I will not say why here.

My suggestion to you is invest in a good camera with macro settings, use a tri-pod and learn how to utilize proper lighting. Also, you have just joined this site, for which we are thankful, so before you roll in with guns-a-blazin, let us get to know you.

    Hired Gun,

First welcome to the site. I have learned alot from the old farts around here - and I plan on learning alot more. They are very good at helping everyone regardless of your collector skill level.

As far as your auction and your comments above, please allow me to bluntly (but in a friendly way) give you my perpective as a potential buyer. I think we all can easily find examples of both parts that are "misrepresented" and parts that are genuine but poorly displayed. That is the point - how does a person 700 miles away look at an item for auction and decide to lay money down for it?

When I buy a car, I want to EXAMINE and ASSESS for myself what I think the value of the vehicle is. I check the tires, walk around the car and take it for a test drive. I do not take as "law" what the salesman has to say, its up to me to decide to I purchase it. I personally do not know anyone that would buy a car based solely on poor quality picture shown to me by a seller I do not know. Additionally, when trying to sell a car, how successful is a seller going to be at getting a good price if he shows off the car with a dirty interior, a bad wax job and cracks in the windshield?

As a collector who uses some of the auction sites to buy parts, I want to SEE what I am buying. Same thing as a vehicle. Do not expect me to be positive about a article that the seller does not make the effort to CLEARLY show me what he is trying to sell.

It's simple - if you want or expect my business, SHOW me what you are selling and do a good job of showcasing the item. Make some effort to SELL it.

Remember, if I wanted PROMISES I would be reading a speech by a politician, not looking at an auction site.

    Just the way I see..
