    British Enfield Sniper???

Yes, I spelled ENFIELD wrong in the title but I cant edit that, sorry...

Found what I think is a Britishicon Enfield sniper at a local gunshop yesterday. It is a No4 Mark 1/2, but is not marked T. It does have the British issue scope mounts, a complete 1943 British scope set up and the wooden cheek piece on a full length stock (its not sporterized like the L42A1's. Were all the of the original guns marked with a T??? It does have an A or AV serial number if that matters...

    Thanks,

    Kenny

Could be wrong but I dont think Mk1/2 were used for 'Ts' Only Mk1's
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

    My 4T is serial number AV3536 so presumably a close relative. Its a Mk1 (not Mk1/2) 1943

I think Captain Laidlericon's book mentions a FEW 1/2 conversions, but no 1/3s. Sounds like a '43 BSA if "AV". MAYBE no "T". An "A" prefix ('44) should have the "T" (mine does and I know of another or two "A"s which have them).

IF it's real, it's a very, very scarce variant! Be careful , but be prepared to pounce QUICKLY!

There were Mk1/2's converted from Mk1's of course and some originated from India recently too but I never saw a Mk1* (or 1/1) T converted to a Mk1/3
