    HRA Bolt

I received a nice H&R service grade a couple months back from the CMPicon. Condition is lke new except it has a SA post war bolt. I found someone with an H&R bolt who is willing to trade. My rifle serial # is 55048xx Barrel date 8-54. My question is would an H&R bolt marked 6528287 HRA with a U.W. underneath be correct for this serial number, or should I look for one with just the U? Thanks in advance.

I would stick with what Scott Duff states and look for a bolt marked " 6528287 HRA .U. " as this bolt was used from apx 4.67 through the end of production. The bolts with the U.W. markings are first observed at about the 5.6 mil range.

    KB,

U.W. bolts are fairly late HRA production, too late for your rifle. While there is no known exact transition to that late bolt, they are not seen on original HRA rifles until late in the 5.6 million range. Get the other bolt.

Thanks a lot, I'll wait and look for the one with just the U on it.
